Marathon

RACE CANCELLED!

Following this morning’s extension of the Met office weather warning for severe wind which now covers the whole of Cumbria. For the safety of all concerned the difficult decision has been made to cancel the 2017 Langdale Marathon & Half.

We feel this decision is necessary to ensure the safety of both runners and course marshals, especially given the nature of the course, much of which is tree lined and some of which is very exposed to the elements. We have not taken this decision lightly and we are very sorry to disappoint people as we know how much training and dedication goes in to preparing for such an event.

The following options are available to you in light of the cancellation –

1. Transfer your entry to next year’s Langdale Marathon & Half

2. Donate your race fee to our local charitable cause – To provide three community access defibrillators, to be placed at various locations along the Langdale Valley. (approx. £2,000 each)

3. Move your entry to the Christmas Pudding 10k event on Saturday 2nd December 2017 (The remainder of your fee will go to our charitable cause as above)

4. A refund of your entry fee

The person who entered you for the event should visit https://www.sientries.co.uk/edit_entry.php?event_id=2955 to choose your preferred option.

The Grand Day Out event is still going ahead this weekend for information about this event please visit - www.granddayoutcumbria.org.uk/

Kind Regards
