A 10k out and back road run along the beautiful Great Langdale Valley.
The Great Langdale St Georges Day Run is a 10k run held in April each year.
Rod Berry and his long suffering wife Dot, organisers of the famous Great Langdale Marathon, welcome all to celebrate the day of our national saint. With the emphasis on FUN, this undulating 10k out and back road run attracts both the seasoned veterans and those new to running alike. Now in it’s 12th year the race has grown in stature and numbers, attracting 500 runners last year.
The course is an out and back, slightly undulating route, along the Great Langdale Road. Starting at the New Dungeon Ghyl, running to The Langdale Estate in Elterwater and returning to the New Dungeon Ghyl.
For all ages, children especially welcome, the Family Fun run heads up the Valley to The Old Dungeon Ghyll and back. Starting 1 Hour before the main race parents can easily run with their children and return to complete the main race.
Entries are £3.00 and only payable on the day. All the finishers get a medal.
